Had an awesome night at Pineview on Wednesday. I was starting to think there were no bass in that lake at all. Put in at 6pm at the port ramp, headed straight for Middle Fork. The water is so low, there was nothing happening (except I busted my newest baitcasting rod by stepping on it - what a pisser!). Dredged up the muck with no luck for about 30 minutes while the water skiers buzzed the boat. Headed to the north side of cemetary point. hooked (and released) about 8 smallies off the rocks. Only thing that was working was a BPS smoke/chartruse pepper tube (color 92).
Moved to the narrows, off the north eastern-most point, and just slayed the smallies (maybe 20 or so in an hour and a half). Nothing big, but the numbers were good. Most fish were 10-12 inches. Seemed like all they wanted was the tube though, nothing else was working. Marked a ton of fish at about 17-20 feet, but most bites came 5 feet from the bank on the initial fall at about 6 feet deep.
Saw a few muskies chasing fish on the surface, but no hookups or follows. The lake is really low, I have no idea where the LMBs are, but the smallies are sure a blast. If anyone has any tips on the bucketmouths, please let me know.
