I'm glad to see that some of the guys showed up to participate this year. My son and I got to the marina around 7:30 am prepped the boat to launch. Launched the boat got out past the buoys and throttled up headed to the rock pile. All was looking good until I noticed that we couldn't get on plane ,It acted like there was no power. I backed off the throttle some and tried it again, still no power . Ilooked down at the temp gauge and it was pegged in the RED. I got it to cool down just enough to get back to the marina. We checked it out and some where I'm not getting cooling water to the engine I'm going to check it out this week. Anyway we were going to be out there with you but the Fishing Gods had other ideas. I'll get it repaired and get out there soon.

"Fish1on won some trolling lures and a dodger for his fish in the "other category".
lol, other category, you kill me. I caught a nice white fish trolling a deep diving rapala???? That fish was hungry with its little mouth and that big ol lure. I was going to release it but it was bleeding bad and they are my favorite/only eating fish from bear lake. Sunday morning was a feast for me, my usual two over easy, toast, and a couple slabs of the bear lake white fish pan fried in olive oil and butter with a dash of garlic salt and pepper.
Thanks again Scott, it was nice spending the morning BSing with ya, been too long since we did that.
WH, thanks for setting this up. Wish there was more folks out with us but we had a fun day regardless.

So I hope the fishing picks up a bit. I can't wait to use my downrigger. The water in the pics is georgous. Here's a C&R cutty taken back when the snow was just off in the spring..

Check your pee hole on the side of the motor, this will indicate if the engine is acually cerculating water thru it.

That link gets you to a good reference page regarding the whole cooling system and some things you can check on your own.
good luck! To bad on the fishing trip.

[#804000]Yeah, I had the same problem as AFDan a couple of days before the Salsa event, and I was trying frantically to replace my impellor and housing, but I couldn't get it back together soon enough.[/#804000]

Thanks Pookiebar for the tip. I am aware of the Pee hole flow, But my main engine is an inboard V-8. Not picking up Lake water to cool the engine.
