Day off
#1
I got all that I need to get done around 10 this morning. I was up on the Foothills so I decided to try some fishing with the new rod I just got done with.
It is an 8' 6 wt, glass and probably a little overkill but I needed to feel it. I slapped on some windcutter II. The fish were a little smaller than I expected but still a blast and they bent the glass just fine....Ahhhh I feel much better now.

Looks like you had a great day!! I haven't been out in a long time...The rivers in my area are death traps right now[frown]... Ogden/Weber both at the top of the flood list. I actually live about a block from the Ogden. Its getting scary.

Very nice...imagine that catch on a 2wt!

Yup my next interest is a 00-02wt just for the challenge and feel.

That's funny, first thing out of my mouth was, why didn't I bring my LL 2 wt. Even the one ounce four would be sick.

I casted an 0 or OO not sure what or who made it but man was that thing light and fast. I think that would be a blast to play with pan fish and community pond 12" trout.

Great report and thanks for the pics

I am slowly converting to a fly fisher! Love it!

My dad used to be the manager of the angler's inn in sandy, and he ended up with these fenwick blanks somehow, so he made a 6'8" 1-2 wt. I've thrown more dries with that up and down the cottonwoods than all of my other rods combined.
Its perfect for those tight brushy areas with a dry, worthless with nymphs [Smile]
