Cascade Ice conditions
#1
OK Idaho guys. Here's your chance to help out a fellow BFTer even if I am a Utahard. I am seriously considering coming up to Cascade on Thursday with a group of my friends. I don't have my snowmobile ready to go yet but I do have a 4x4 ATV with 25" tires and a set of chains.

Are the current conditions OK for an ATV? I know there is some snow in the forecast but it looks like it won't be too deep to prevent using my Can-Am.

I appreciate any and all information concerning the current and near term conditions. We will probably be accessing the lake from Poison Creek.

Thanks in advance.

Send me a PM if you're embarassed about talking with someone from "Down South".

ATVs were more than adequate on Friday and Saturday. There are some very dangerous pressure ridges. And the weather has been very warm. I recommend exercising great caution. Fishing has been pretty good.

Thanks for your reply. The information confirms what little I'd heard about the conditions. Caution on the ice is always a very good idea. It is smart to be with a group so that if anything happens, help is at hand.

Keep that powder dry!
