I fished HN from my tube again today to see if things had picked up any since my last visit on August 31st when I only caught a couple of rainbows.
I launched at the boat ramp, which doesn't have much concrete left in the water, at 10:00 and fished until 2:30. I only managed to pick up a baby bass, small bluegill, and four rainbows. I did have another half dozen rainbows on so it is picking up a little, but no wipers.
I was using a fast sinking line in 18' to 25' FOW with a size 10 bead head olive soft hackle fly and a size 6 bead head tan/green/pearl crystal bugger.
The water temperature was 67-68 degrees and the visibility in the water of about 4'. The reservoir level is at 42% and still going down.[:/]
There was only one boat with a couple of guys fishing and a couple on their stand up paddle boards, no shore anglers.
There is still too much of the real fish food in the water for the fish to get very excited about something with fur, feathers, and a sharp hook.[]
