Will you be installing Electric or Manual downriggers. The electric are heavier and would need a very secure and sturdy mount.

Most likely manual, the boat does not have much of a rail to attach a mount on top of it.

With the boxes you have on the inside ( based on pics of your type of boat)you could have some heavy Alum or SS pieces bent similar to the pic that could be attached to the gunnels and the top or side of the boxes using a backing plate on the backside. Pedestals are also an option but my experience with them is they can apply a lot of torque where they are fastened so it needs to have a very solid mounting surface. Go with electric you will be much happier in the long run

I had a Lund, and attached my manual downrigger mounts to the seats. Just a thought.

Check out the mini laker by Walker, I have 2 of them. They have a clamp style mount that fits up to a 2.5" gunwale. I have loved mine, they are inexpensive lite and easily removed and stowed.

How do you know how deep the ball is?

probably bought an aftermarket line counter or marked the cable in 10' increments.

If you have a fish finder the ball should show up on it, for the depth.

I have a Lund 1875 Impact with Cannon mag 5's. They are mounted on the sport track with swivel mounts. They are electric and I absolutely love them. I use ten pounds pancake balls and no issues. Here's a couple of pics.
