If planes work out I will be at Mantua tomorrow morning. I have never fished it this early any advice for going after the bass. I was thinking jig with a trailer worked on the bottom. Any action with the blue gills? Thanks for the comments Chip

Shallow Bays that are close to drop-offs ... Slow Presentations ... Long Casts ... Dropshotting, and Deadsticking will do nicely

Bass up there have been getting lots of pressure latley. I would try non typical areas that get over looked by most anglers. Look for edges.

deadsticking, just let it chill. Don't give the jig any action. It's for fish that are very lethargic.

So when you deadstick it are you rigging it a certain way or is this a name of a technique used in any way rigged?

Fished it a couple times last year (early June timeframe), but not this early. We saw many a blue gill swimming around, but never could catch them little devils. Saw some folks fishing for the bass with top water early in the morning and late at night. I did catch on on a spinner bait. Looking forward to your report.
