On my various excursions to Lincoln Beach I have always taken the Springville 263 exit and worked my way to West Mountain. I always ended up at Lincoln Beach even though I didn't always take the same roads. Some time ago I used the BFT search engine and located different directions to Lincoln Beach prepared by other people. I used the one that was developed by Kent (kentofnsl) because I know how precise he is on everything he does. I decided to take those directions and got lost. It had nothing to do with the directions they were excellent. It was dark outside when I got to the Spanish Fork exit #260, and when you add that situation to my deficient cognitive skills and my unfamiliarity with the area west of Spanish Fork-- I just got lost. After that experience I just went back to my old way of getting to Lincoln Beach.
As I was thinking about my trip to Lincoln Beach this Saturday I decided that I would use my new Magellan Roadmate 2200T to pick me the shortest and the fastest route to Lincoln Beach from my home in Orem. The shortest route ended up being 29 miles from my house taking 53 minutes. The fastest route ended up being 31 miles taking 51 minutes.
If anyone is interested both routes had me take the Springville 263 exit. Evidently the shortest and fastest way to get to Lincoln Beach going south on I-15 is as follows:
1. Exit the freeway at the Springville 263 exit and go west 4.5 miles on highway 77.
2. Highway 77 automatically turns south after the 4.5 miles. After it turns south go another 1.5 miles to 5600 South.
3. Turn west at 5600 South and go 1 mile to 4000 West.
4. Turn south at 4000 West and travel 1/2 mile (.5) to 6000 South.
5. Turn west at 6000 South and travel 1 mile to 4800 West.
6. Turn south at 4800 West and travel .3 mile to 6300 South.
7. Turn west at 6300 South and go 2 miles to Lincoln Beach Road.
The address of Lincoln Beach is 4700 South Lincoln Beach Road.
Disclaimer:I am not saying that this is the best route to take. I am just saying that it is the shortest and fastest route. Other routes may be easier to take, especially if you are used to them.
