Headed to Twin Lakes w/ shootermedic today. We got there about 0730 and put in. my son caught a decent gill first cast about 40 feet off the shore. Thought for sure we were going to do well. Turned out that was the high point. We caught a bunch of micro gills in the 4" range and then got a few more in the 6-7 inch range but never did really good. A lot of them stole our bait with regularity. In the end we landed 3-4 dozen and get about 12 of them. Pleasant day but the catching could have been better.

Were you fishing the south lake? Did the gills move away from the shoreline?

We fished both north and south lakes. The gills that we found in any number and bigger than a small cookie were all 20-30 ft deep. off one of the dams. The exception was the one my son caught right off just off one of the ramps.

Ya, it sounds like they are definately past their spawn. Much more difficult to find the big ones now.
